What I am Thankful For

I am THANKFUL for the flower box's my dad built for me this past summer. Now that he is gone, I can't help but look around the house and remember all the projects he helped me with. He was so intent on getting the house "winter ready" before his surgery. And sometimes I think that if he didn't have the surgery, would he still be here? But as a CHRISTIAN, I have to remember that God knows our birth date and our death date. Dad loved that saying, and to be honest, it has helped me grieve his loss.

I hope that the next couple of months become easier for my entire family. I don't expect their to be a day that I don't think of him, but I hope that I don't cry everyday. I try and focus on the fact that he is in HEAVEN with SOOO many loved ones.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE!

LOVE YOU DAD!!!

Amber,
I just found your blog and thought I'd check it out. I got a little choked up when i read this post. Man, i loved your dad too!

There is great comfort to be found in the soverignty of God. Knowing that nothing happens to us that is outside of His control and that ALL things are for our good and His glory. Praise God that your dad knew Him and this moment here on earth is only temporary.

This should give you comfort even though you continue to be sad. i rejoice that your dad is in heaven and pray that the Lord will comfort you as your dad isnt here on earth anymore. So many wonderful memories of him and things to make us smile.

love you sis!
